Samuel Shimp, 45 years, Farmer, NJ (birthplace), 7000 (value of real estate, owned)
Matilda Shimp, 38 years, --, NJ
John H Shimp, 14 years, --, NJ
William R Shimp, 11 years, --, NJ
Interesting Note: Census shows Samuel and Matilda are next door neighbors to Henry and Mary Kline and daughters, Amanda and Hannah. Amanda Kline and John Shimp eventually marry.
1880 Census:
I found Catherine (Matilda) and Washington (?I assume it is William) living with John in 1880. William is single and Catherin is widowed.
